Prerequisites:
Before we dive into the tutorial, make sure you have the following prerequisites in place:

  1. A registered Documentero account.
  2. Your desired document template in .docx format or created using the Documentero online editor.
  3. Basic familiarity with WebFlow

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

Step 1: Register with Documentero

  • Register for a Documentero account if you haven’t already.
  • Log in to your Documentero account.

Step 2: Create Your Document Template

  • You have two options for creating your document template:
    • Use the Documentero online editor to create your template.
    • Upload an existing .docx template from your computer.

Step 3: Upload Your Template to Documentero

  • Once your template is ready (either created online or uploaded), Documentero will generate new template that you can use for document generation. Document generation online forms will be created - you can configure and customize it to your needs.

Step 4: Share your form

  • In Documentero you can share your forms clicking on “Share Form” icon on specific document template
  • Configure what should happen after form submission (e.g. allow user to download document)
  • Copy shared form public link

Step 5: Configure the Plugin

  • In your WebFlow site, install and configure the Documentero - Generate Docx PDF App.
  • Install and add app to your workspace
  • Launch app, create empty container elements on your site and point on the element
  • Paste shared form link to app and click Apply
  • Configure & Customize Document Generation Form to your needs.

Step 6: Generate Your Documents

  • Now, you’re ready to generate your documents within your WebFlow Site.

Result:
As a result of following these steps, you will obtain a document download link. You can use this link to download the generated document within your app or pass it to other actions, such as uploading it to Google Drive. If you opted for the email option, the document will also be sent as an attachment to the specified email address.
